Both protect your underwater metals from galvanic corrosion on shore power. A galvanic isolator is the simpler, lower-cost option. An isolation transformer fully separates your boat from the shore ground and also protects against shore-side wiring faults, which makes it the better choice for boats that spend long periods plugged in.

Q. Can I charge lithium batteries from my boat's alternator?

Yes, through a DC-DC charger such as the Orion XS or Orion-Tr Smart. It gives the lithium bank the right charge profile and keeps the alternator from being overworked.

Q. Can I see my Victron system on my chartplotter?

Yes. A Cerbo GX connected to your NMEA 2000 network with the VE.Can to NMEA 2000 cable can send battery, solar and inverter data to compatible chartplotters.
