Victron for RVs & Vans

(57 products) FAQ

Most Victron RV and van builds follow the same pattern: a 12V lithium house battery, an Orion XS or Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger to charge it while you drive, a SmartSolar MPPT for the roof panels, and a SmartShunt to track what you're using. A MultiPlus Compact or MultiPlus-II adds 120V outlets and charges from campground shore power. Everything connects to the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Victron for RVs & Vans Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Which DC-DC charger do I need for my van or RV?

It depends on your alternator and battery bank. As a rough guide, larger lithium banks and modern alternators suit the Orion XS 50A, while smaller systems often use an Orion-Tr Smart 18A or 30A. Ask our team if you're unsure.

Q. Can I control my Victron system from my phone?

Yes. SmartSolar MPPTs, SmartShunts, Orion Smart chargers and Blue Smart chargers all connect over Bluetooth to the free VictronConnect app.

Q. Do I need an inverter in my RV?

Only if you want to run 120V appliances from your batteries. A MultiPlus Compact or MultiPlus-II also charges your batteries when you plug into shore power.
