The Octopus AFG1612 Reversing Gear Pump 12V 1600cc/min is a compact hydraulic autopilot drive pump built for dependable steering performance on vessels using 16–24 cubic inch cylinders. Designed for marine autopilot systems, this 12VDC gear pump delivers efficient hydraulic flow while helping reduce power demand under high-load steering conditions.

Key Features

  • Efficient Hydraulic Performance: 1600cc/min flow rate supports responsive autopilot steering for compatible hydraulic systems.
  • Compact Installation: Small, lightweight design improves mounting flexibility in tight helm, lazarette, or equipment spaces.
  • Quiet Operation: Low-noise, low-vibration construction makes it well suited for sailboats and other noise-sensitive installations.
  • Broad Cylinder Compatibility: Suitable for balanced or unbalanced hydraulic cylinders in the 16–24ci range.
  • Marine-Ready Protection: IP55 waterproofing with ignition protection to ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 standards.

Octopus hydraulic drives are trusted in marine navigation and autopilot applications where reliable course-keeping and efficient steering response matter. This reversing gear pump can allow the use of smaller autopilot course computers compared with some equivalent drive units, helping simplify system planning while maintaining strong performance.

With 1/4 in NPT connections, 6.6A average current draw, and an operating temperature range of 5°F to 167°F, this Octopus pump is a practical choice for upgrading or completing a compatible hydraulic autopilot installation.
