The Tyee Series Mooching Rod is a custom designed rod, specifically for the changing times of our salmon fishery. With the forced emergence of a catch and release fishery, we now need a rod that makes the catching experience enjoyable.
The construction of the Tyee series rod represents only 10% of the current market of rods. This super high-end rod is constructed of Hextow - IM10 Carbon Fiber material, which has the highest KSI (kilograms per square inch) rating just under 1,000. This gives the rod, especially in shaft section incredible stiffness & strength but allowing the tapered tip to be light and fast action. Being constructed of only graphite fiber the rod composition of IM-10 has the highest modulus weave, is super light under 10oz and creates a well centered parabolic under pressure.
IM-10 material is mainly used in the aerospace and racing industries based on it's high performance properties.
You will feel all the head shakes, movement of the fish and exhilaration of catching a mad, wild salmon!
Designed by a West Coast Fisherman, this rod is packed with beautiful high end options. Comes in matte black, to match all the various colours of reels currently on the market. Double A grade high end clear cork top handle for a comfortable grip and shorter carbon fiber bottom handle. This provides a nice balance when holding the rod as well as durability while trolling in rod holders where cork typically gets chewed up. A comfortable butt section to plant firmly on your body. Strong double footed aluminum oxide guides and fuji reel seat.
