The Stonfo Elite Disc Drag Bobbin (528) is a precision fly-tying bobbin designed to deliver smooth, adjustable thread tension for cleaner wraps and fewer break-offs. Built from a weighted stainless steel body with a hardened steel tube insert and a countersunk feed, the Stonfo bobbin gives consistent thread feed and reliable control for trout flies and general fly-tying work.

Key Features

  • Weighted Stainless Steel Body: Balanced design for stable, comfortable handling and steady thread delivery.
  • Quick-Adjust Disc Drag: Fine, repeatable tension control to prevent over-tightening or slack while tying.
  • Hardened Steel Tube Insert: Smooth, burr-resistant feed that minimizes thread fray and breakage.
  • Countersunk Feed: Allows thread to glide for easier threading and more reliable wraps.
  • Universal Spool Compatibility: Suitable for most thread spool sizes used in fly tying.
  • Durable Construction: Corrosion-resistant materials for long service life at the vise.

This Stonfo bobbin is ideal for tying trout patterns and a wide range of freshwater flies where precise thread tension matters. Fly tyers choose Stonfo for predictable performance and fewer thread failures — the disc-drag adjustment helps maintain consistent tension whether you’re using fine or heavy thread. The Elite Disc Drag Bobbin pairs well with standard threaders, rotary vises and common tying thread brands.
