The Boat Hook Mooring Buoy Snap Kit is a simple, effective solution for attaching a mooring line to a buoy or cleat—without leaning dangerously overboard. Designed to fit onto the end of most standard boat hooks or poles, this kit turns a difficult docking task into a fast, controlled, one-handed operation.
Using the included keeper plate, the channeled snap mounts directly to the end of your boat hook. To use, reach out with the pole, hook the carabiner onto the inside of the buoy ring or cleat, then pull back. As the snap slides free of the pole, the spring-loaded carabiner automatically closes, securely clipping your mooring line in place. This makes it especially useful for high-bowed boats, tight marinas, or rough conditions where reaching by hand isn’t safe or practical.
Constructed from investment-cast 316 stainless steel with a stamped 304 stainless steel keeper plate, this kit offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability in saltwater environments. Sea-Dog® boat hooks feature pre-drilled mounting holes for easy installation, but the kit can be adapted to many standard poles.
