The Savage Gear Sandeel SE-J160 is a 6" soft plastic lure engineered to imitate sand eels—the staple forage for striped bass, bluefish, cod and other saltwater predators. With a balanced 1.5 oz rigged profile and hyper-realistic holographic eyes, this Savage Gear soft plastic lure delivers lifelike swimming action whether you’re vertical jigging, slow-trolling, or casting from shore. The Sandeel’s profile and upgraded bait keeper make it easy to secure replacement tails for extended use.

Key Features

  • Realistic Sand Eel Profile: Precisely molded body and tail produce a natural swimming action that triggers aggressive strikes.
  • Saltwater-Grade Hook: Custom Japanese forged carbon-steel 5X hook provides corrosion resistance and strong hookups on big fish.
  • Bait Keeper & Eyes: Upgraded bait keeper holds soft plastics firmly and holographic eyes add lifelike flash and attraction.

Designed for versatility, the Savage Gear Sandeel excels when used for vertical jigging on wrecks and rock piles, casting from the surf, or slow-trolling in open water. Anglers prefer Savage Gear for consistent balance, durable construction, and compatibility with standard soft-plastic tails and jigging rigs. The lure’s dual tie points allow both shallow and deeper presentations for stripers, bass, and a wide range of saltwater species.

Available in 5", 6", 7", 7.5", and 8" sizes (approx. 5" = 0.8 oz, 6" = 1.5 oz, 7" = 2.3 oz, 7.5" = 3.5 oz, 8" = 5.3 oz). Pack contents vary by model but typically include a rigged Sandeel plus at least one replacement tail. Compatible with common jig heads, braided lines, and saltwater terminal tackle.
