Lofrans windlasses have an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and performance. Straightforward to install and requiring little maintenance, the lightweight aluminium gypsy base unit sits on the deck with the horizontal motor and gearbox assembly below deck. A pre-fitted sensor in the base and a magnet in the gypsy allows easy connection to an optional chain counter system. Made from marine grade anodised aluminium, the rope/chain gypsy will handle both 8mm chain and 14mm 3-strand warp. In an emergency it can also be used manually.
