Hareline Flashabou Original Tinsel is a water-resistant metallic tying material built to add bright flash and profile without absorbing water or adding bulk. Ideal for fly tying, the Flashabou Original by Hedron (also sold through Hareline Dubbin) is used for wings, tails, ribbing and streamer bodies where consistent shimmer and durability matter.
Key Features
- High Strand Count: Approximately 1700 strands per pack for generous coverage and value.
- Thin Metallic Strands: Strands are about 1/69" wide and 8–10" long—easy to wrap, stack or blend with other fibers.
- Water-Resistant Synthetic: Does not absorb water, so flies keep their action and remain lightweight on the surface.
Fly tiers choose Hareline Flashabou for its bright reflective qualities and broad color range. Use it to add flash to streamers, saltwater patterns, nymph bodies, dry-fly wings and ribbing; it layers well with fibers, dubbing and synthetic shells. Flashabou ties in cleanly with standard tying thread and holds under head cement, epoxy or clear UV resin, letting you finish durable, attractive patterns that fish notice.
