Hareline Flashabou Original is a versatile fly-tying material that adds brilliant mylar flash to streamers, saltwater flies, nymph bodies, wings and tails. Favored by fly tyers for both freshwater and saltwater patterns, Flashabou provides natural movement and high reflectivity; Hareline Dubbin carries the full color range to match classic and modern recipes.

Key Features

  • Strand Count: Approximately 1,700 strands per pack, giving you material for many flies.
  • Strand Size: Strands measure about 1/69" wide and 10" long for realistic motion and profile.
  • Reflective Mylar: Metallic mylar strands move like marabou to create subtle to dramatic flash.
  • Wide Color Range: Available in metallics, pearls and mirage finishes suitable for saltwater and freshwater patterns.

Use Hedron Flashabou to add flash for ribbing bodies, wings, tails and streamer profiles. The thin mylar layers blend well with feathers and synthetic fibers so you can control flash intensity without changing silhouette. Fly tyers choose Hedron Flashabou for its strand length and consistency — one pack supports many small and medium-sized patterns, from deceivers and buggers to saltwater bonefish and tarpon flies.
