The Hareline Spirit River UV2 Strung Saddle is a UV-enhanced strung saddle hackle designed for fly tying. These pre-strung rooster saddles produce 5-7 inch hackle fibers that combine stiffness and lively movement, making them ideal for steelhead, saltwater, and warm-water patterns. Hareline's UV2 dye technology increases visibility in low light and murky water so flies trigger more strikes.

Key Features

  • UV2 Color Enhancement: UV-reactive dye for brighter, more visible colors that attract fish in changing light conditions.
  • Pre-Strung Saddle: Ready-to-use, 5-7 inch rooster fibers for consistent hackle length and faster tying.
  • Stiffness & Bounce: Rooster saddle fibers give the right body and movement for streamers, buggers and saltwater flies.
  • Dyed Over White: Bold, colorfast dyes applied over white saddle material for even, repeatable hues.

Fly tyers rely on Hareline and Spirit River materials for dependable performance and consistent color. The strung saddle format reduces preparation time while delivering the fiber profile needed for classic patterns like woolly buggers, weighted streamers, and saltwater baitfish imitations. These saddles wrap cleanly around hooks and stack well with Hareline dubbing, tinsel, and synthetic bodies to create durable, effective flies.

Specifications: hackle fibers typically run 5-7 inches. Packaged dimensions and weight vary by color and packaging style; estimated packaged size is approximately 8 x 4 x 0.25 inches with a packaged weight around 0.1 lb. Compatible with standard fly-tying tools and hooks; ideal for both hobbyists and professional tiers.
