Hareline Schlappen feathers are versatile fly tying materials designed to add soft, webby movement to streamers, woolly buggers, intruder collars and saltwater patterns. Made by Hareline (Hareline Dubbin), these schlappen hackles measure approximately 5–7" and are sold in lightweight 1/4 oz (0.25 oz) packs, giving tiers long, tapering fibers for lifelike action in both freshwater and saltwater flies.
These Hareline Schlappen feathers are easy to trim, stack and tie in place. The thin stems make them ideal for collars on intruders or for palmering along bodies to simulate baitfish movement. Fly tiers choose Hareline Schlappen for patterns targeting trout, bass, steelhead, salmon and saltwater species because of the material's natural motion and versatility.
Each pack pairs well with chenille, dubbing, flash materials and standard streamer hooks. Packaged weight is 0.25 oz; feather length is 5–7". For more details (including color options and recommended tying techniques), see product specifications and the Hareline color charts.
