Hareline Schlappen are natural, webby streamer feathers designed for fly tying that deliver lifelike motion in the water. Produced by Hareline, these schlappen feathers feature long, soft fibers measuring approximately 5-7 inches per feather and are commonly used for streamers, woolly buggers, salmon and steelhead collars. Each retail pack contains roughly 1/4 oz (about 0.25 oz / ≈7 g) of material — enough to tie multiple larger flies.
Fly tiers choose Hareline Schlappen for consistent texture and reliable dye jobs across colors. The soft feathers trim easily and blend exceptionally well with marabou, strung hackle, chenille and flash materials to add bulk and action. Whether tying for trout, bass, pike, steelhead, salmon or saltwater species, Hareline Schlappen enhances movement and profile to help entice strikes.
Specifications: feather length 5-7 inches; pack weight ≈0.25 oz (≈7 g). Packaged product is compact and estimated at 8 × 4 × 0.25 inches for storage and organization in a fly-tying kit. Compatible with common fly-tying hooks and accessories such as marabou, flashabou and chenille.
