Barred and resembling the coloration of teal feathers, Pintail Flank feathers tend to be longer fibered which makes them great for spey flies. The flank feathers tend to be darker and more-barred than mallard, but lighter than Gadwall, making them a great material for any wet fly pattern you wish to tie. Also, don't hesitate to join it with other wing materials, as Pintail flank pairs very well with most!
