Hareline Flashabou is a metallic, reflective fly-tying tinsel designed to add dynamic flash and lifelike scale patterns to streamers, saltwater patterns and nymphs. The Flashabou Original from Hareline Dubbin offers long, limp mylar strands that provide eye-catching movement and a compact profile suitable for streamer wings, tails, ribbing and bug bodies. Each pack contains approximately 1700 strands measuring about 1/69" wide by 10" long, making it an efficient choice for both saltwater and freshwater fly tying.

Key Features

  • High-Reflectivity: Metallic mylar strands produce shimmering flash that attracts fish in clear and stained water.
  • Versatile Length: 10" strands can be used full-length or trimmed/folded for tails, bodies and wings.
  • Large Strand Count: ~1700 strands per pack gives you plenty for multiple patterns without frequent restocking.
  • Durable Synthetic: Resistant to deformation, works as a mylar tinsel replacement for ribbing and accents.

Fly tiers choose Hareline Flashabou for its balance of flash-to-weight and easy handling. The limp strands tie in cleanly and layer well with other synthetic fibers like marabou and dubbing, helping you build streamers that move naturally. Whether you tie saltwater baitfish patterns or freshwater streamers and bass flies, the Flashabou adds scale-like glint that triggers strikes.
