Hareline Cactus Chenille is a versatile fly tying material designed to add durable sparkle and a shaggy body profile to streamers, woolly buggers, nymphs and jigs. Available in Medium and Large sizes, this fly tying chenille contains pearlescent fibers that reflect light for subtle flash while shorter cactus-style fibers provide texture without excessive bulk. Each pack contains approximately 3 yards of chenille and the pack weight is small and easy to store for frequent use.

Key Features

  • Pearlescent Flash: Built-in reflective fibers add targeted sparkle to help attract fish in low-light or stained water.
  • Textured, Shaggy Body: Cactus-style fibers create a lifelike profile and controlled movement ideal for streamers and buggers.
  • Two Sizes (Medium & Large): Choose Medium or Large to match hook size and desired bulk without changing tying technique.
  • Durable Synthetics: Resists water absorption and fraying so tied flies maintain shape and performance over repeated use.

Fly tyers choose Hareline Cactus Chenille because it layers cleanly with thread, ribbing, and other flash materials to produce tapered, lifelike bodies. Compared to Ice Chenille, the cactus variant has shorter fibers (similar to Polar Chenille) that undulate less but retain flash and durability—making it a go-to for lake flies, buggers, and larger streamers. Hareline's color range lets you match natural prey or add bright contrast where needed.
