The Garmin gWind Wireless 2 Transducer is a marine instrument designed to measure wind speed and angle without the hassle of routing cables down the mast. Featuring a wireless mast installation, it eliminates the need to run cables through masts up to 50 feet. It includes a 3-bladed propeller for precise wind speed readings in light air, alongside a Nexus twin-fin design for a stable wind angle.
The device is powered by an internal solar-charged battery built right into the transducer arm, which has a multi-year lifespan (typically lasting about 3 years) and is easily replaceable when needed. It sends accurate wind data via ANT connection directly to compatible Garmin GNX Wind instruments or select GPSMAP chartplotters, such as the GPSMAP 7400, 7600, 8400, and 8600 series.
Measuring 13.6 inches by 24.0 inches and weighing 350 grams, the unit carries an IPX6 water rating to ensure protection against heavy seas. It is built to reliably capture a wind speed range spanning from 0.8 to 90 knots.
