The Garmin NMEA 2000 starter kit provides the essential wiring and connection hardware needed to build a foundational NMEA 2000 marine data network on a boat. The kit includes a 10 m backbone cable, a 2 m drop cable, a 2 m fused power wire, two T-connectors, and a pair of 120Ω terminating resistors. Together, these components create a plug-and-play micro-C network architecture that allows onboard electronics—such as chartplotters, VHF radios, sounders, and engine sensors—to exchange data seamlessly across a single, shared bus.

Built to universal NMEA 2000 industry standards, the starter kit ensures full plug-and-play compatibility with both Garmin equipment and third-party marine devices. Installation requires simple hand-tightened waterproof connections, and the system is designed for modular expansion to support up to 50 devices and network lengths up to 100 meters.
