Gamakatsu Octopus Barbless Hooks

The Gamakatsu Octopus Barbless Hooks are a Pacific Northwest staple, built for anglers who need fast-biting, fish-friendly hooks that meet barbless regulations across coastal BC waters. Forged from premium high-carbon steel and offered in low-glare Nickel and NS Black finishes, these offset hooks deliver the strength and stealth that saltwater salmon and freshwater steelhead fishing demand.

Key Features

• Barbless compliant: A specially engineered bend penetrates quickly and holds firmly while meeting barbless hook regulations.
• Needle-honed point: Conically sharpened straight from the pack and built to stay sharp through repeated hook sets.
• High-carbon steel: Precision-tempered for superior strength, resisting bending under heavy salmon and bottom-fish loads.
• Two finishes: Choose corrosion-resistant Nickel or low-visibility NS Black to match your presentation and water conditions.
• Wide size range: Available from 2/0 through 7/0 in convenient 6-pack and 25-pack counts.

The classic octopus shape — short shank, round bend, and turned eye — makes these Gamakatsu hooks ideal for mooching cut-plug herring, drifting roe and bait for salmon and steelhead, and rigging for bottom fish. The compact bend tucks neatly into natural baits for a clean, natural drift.

Whether you're working Nanaimo harbour for chinook or a local river for steelhead, Gamakatsu's reputation for sticky-sharp, dependable hooks makes the Octopus Barbless a confident choice for serious West Coast anglers.
