Victron Charge & Convert

An inverter such as the Victron Phoenix turns battery power into 120V AC. An inverter/charger such as the MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II or Quattro does that too, and also charges your batteries and passes shore or generator power through when it's connected.

If you charge a lithium house bank from an engine alternator, a DC-DC charger such as the Orion XS or Orion-Tr Smart is the usual answer. It gives the house battery the right charge profile and limits the current the alternator has to supply.

Isolated models keep the input and output completely separate electrically, which helps prevent ground loops and stray currents. Non-isolated models such as the Orion XS share a common negative and are smaller and more efficient. If you're not sure which your boat needs, ask our team.

It separates your boat's AC system from the shore power ground. That protects your underwater metals from galvanic corrosion caused by other boats and the marina, and makes shore power safer.

Blue Smart IP22 chargers are for dry indoor spaces, IP65 for splash-prone areas and IP67 is fully sealed for wet locations. Phoenix Smart IP43 chargers offer higher outputs and multiple banks. Smart models have Bluetooth for setup and monitoring in the VictronConnect app.
