The big news for the week is our annual giant Pirates Days sale is this Saturday. We will be open 8-4 on the day. So if you need to gear up for the year this is your best opportunity to save some cash. you can see the flyer by clicking here.
In fishing news I got out for some prawning and while I didn't get huge quantities, the size of them was really good. Some of the biggest prawns I've ever seem. One trap did drift in the current which is a good reminder to add trap weights to your trap and clip weights to the line.
Also remember the new regulations for prawn traps needing rot cord or escape panels.
Salmon fishing has been great this week. The bigger Springs from last week are making their way South and are now in the Ladysmith area. (There are still plenty off French Creek and Nanaimo) There are lots of hatchery ones in the mix, if you are looking to retain a fish and are in one of the open areas.
The new West Coast Tackle Superhero spoons have been cleaning up. The best one locally was the Van Herring, paired with either Hot Spots Blue Anchovy Flasher or West Coast's Chrome Herring Aid flasher.
See You at Pirates Day!
Tips up!
