Just a heads up that this Saturday is our annual Pirate Day Sale. This is by far our biggest sale of the year. This is the one people line up over night for!
Check out the Flyer Here. There will be much more than what's in the flyer, with some of our top suppliers also showing up. This allows you to buy directly from our wholesalers, and there are always incredible deals.
Salt Water Report
In Georgia Strait the lingcod fishing has been great. I've had many reports from successful lingcod fishermen. The top lures have been the Rapala Otus in Hot Tiger Pike and 7" Z-Man DieZel Minnoz in Sexy Mullett.
The top locations have been Entrance Island and the reefs near Thrasher Rock. Although the Nanoose area fishermen have been doing very well too. Remember, you don't always have to go deep for lingcod. Just find a rocky location or a steep drop off.
Remember to always have your rockfish descender ready to go. It is required whenever you are saltwater fishing from a boat in British Columbia. I find the standard depth Seaqualizer to be the easiest to use.
Prawning reports are still mixed. Some areas are seeing good catches and some less so. The one consistent thing is that they are all saying the prawns are very big this year, and there are very few with eggs.
Vancouver Island made Bauer traps are your best trap choice. But we also have stainless steel stackable round traps if you have limited space. All our traps comply with the new escape door regulations. And if you have an old trap, we have the Bauer escape kits and rot cord to update your traps and keep it legal.
