I hope everyone had a good holiday and hopefully got out fishing a bit!
In Georgia Strait we have had pretty consistent fishing for the last couple weeks. Comox, French Creek and Nanaimo have all been excellent for feeder Chinook. We have lot's of bait drawing in the fish. It's mostly normal deep water trolling with plugs like 5" Glow T-Rex and large green glow spoons like Big Eye's Reelman being the most productive.
The glow in-line flashers that I assemble and the brand new Oki MJ series Green Jellyfish have been the best flashers lately. Email me if you want to know mare about the in-line flashers. I don't have them on the website yet.
Entrance Island, the east side Gabriola down to Thrasher has been the best Nanaimo locations lately. Five Fingers has been sporadic, with some great days, and some days with too many undersized fish.
I've started to get some good reports from the Howe Sound fishermen. It sounds like there are lot's of feeders moving through the usual locations. So if you are on that side of the Strait now is the time to get out there.
The only major change is that fishing south of Dodd Narrows has improved for the size and quantity of fish. Porlier Pass lit up this week with lot's of good fish in the low teens. I'm looking for a report from the Sansum Narrows area. I expect it should be picking up there, but need confirmation. So if you are fishing it, please send me an email at the address below.
In Harbour Chandler news the Vancouver Boat Show is almost here. Shop online or in the store for all our boat show deals.
And the other big news of the week is the new 5" R3EF high speed trolling reel is out. I spooled up a couple yesterday and they are very fast, and very cool. I really like R3EF's other products, and this reel looks awesome.
Thanks to everybody sending me photos and fishing reports.
Tips up!
