This week is the annual Vancouver Boat Show! While we don't have a big booth at the show like we once did, all our deals are just as good. Shop in store or online to get them. We have great prices on the popular West Coast Tackle spoons Like Hulk. Our Scotty downrigger pricing is too good to post online or put on our website (or else Scotty gets mad at us) but you can see it in store or email me if you want a deal. It will be much better than the advertised price on our website. While I can't write it, trust me it's the cheapest you will ever see a new Scotty downrigger sell for.
In the salt water report it's been a solid week for Chinook fishing. Thrasher Rock, and down all along Valdez Island to Portlier Pass has been the hot location. The fish are holding close to the bottom for the most part, with some schools moving up early in the morning to feed or herring. Large plugs like 5" 602 and 6" Big-E spoons in glow Cop Car continue to produce. Big anchovies in Glow Chartreus Teaser Heads are also very productive. There are anchovies in this area for the first time in a long time, so bait is very effective right now. The top flasher has been Big Shooters Orange Phantom. It's really bright at depth with glow and UV on the same flasher.
In the fresh water the rivers are dropping into shape after the heavy rains last week. All relevant rivers are doing well for steelhead. With the higher waters don't be afraid to use big, bright lures. 16-18mm beads have been working. Try 16mm Cheris or 18mm Clown.
Soft worms are also good right now after big rains. With 5.5" WFO Pink Pearl, and Neon Crush have been getting the bites.
Lake fishing has a bit spotty, but Long Lake has had some good reports. Berkley Power Bait has been consistently effective.
Tips Up!
