The Shimano Convergence D Spinning Rod is a versatile spinning rod designed for the multi-species angler who needs sensitivity and backbone in one package. Built on a lightweight carbon blank and fitted with a Fuji reel seat and SeaGuide aluminum-oxide guides, the Convergence D delivers precise bite detection and consistent line control for freshwater and inshore saltwater fishing.

Key Features

  • Lightweight Carbon Blank: Sensitive blank provides fast response to light bites while retaining the power to handle larger fish.
  • Fuji Reel Seat & SeaGuide Guides: Quality components reduce line friction and improve casting distance with braided or monofilament lines.
  • Comfortable Cork Handle & Travel Protection: Full cork grip for all-day comfort; select 4-piece travel models include a protective travel tube for safe transport.

Shimano engineered the Convergence D series with a compact lineup of lengths, powers and actions—common configurations include 6'3", 6'6", 7'0" and 7'6"—covering line ratings roughly 8–30 lb and lure weights from about 3/16–3/4 oz across the series. Anglers choose Shimano for dependable components, durable guides and a balance of sensitivity and casting power ideal for bass, walleye, panfish and light inshore work. Convergence D rods pair seamlessly with most spinning reels and perform well with braided or fluorocarbon leaders.

Approximate packaged dimensions (estimated): 7'0" models ~86 × 4 × 3 in, packaged weight ~1.8 lb; 6'6" models ~80 × 4 × 3 in, packaged weight ~1.6 lb. These packaging estimates are provided to aid shipping and storage planning.
