Frequently Asked Questions
Tomic Plugs & Lures for Salmon Fishing Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What are Tomic plugs used for?
Tomic plugs are trolling lures used mainly for salmon fishing. Their rolling swimming action is a long-time favourite for chinook and coho on the West Coast.
Q. What are the most popular Tomic plug colours?
Proven favourites include 602, 632, 645, 646 'Jack Smith' and G26L 'T-Rex'. Many anglers keep a few classic finishes and a glow option on board.
Q. What is the difference between a Tomic Classic and a Tubby?
Tubby plugs have a fuller body profile than the Classic. Check each listing for the size and finish available.
Q. What do UV, glow and iridescent insert mean?
UV finishes reflect ultraviolet light, glow finishes give off light after being charged, and iridescent insert models have a reflective panel. Check each product photo and description for details.
Q. What size Tomic plug should I use?
Size depends on the bait size, depth and the salmon you are targeting. Ask our fishing team for current local recommendations.
Q. Do you ship Tomic plugs across Canada?
Yes. Free shipping is available on most orders over $120 CAD, and we ship across Canada from our Nanaimo store.

Steve is a awesome salesman at Harbor Chandler. Steve's patients and abilities to make the sale over the phone or Email makes me come back time and time. This is my third purchase and I will be back again to work with Steve. Steve is not just a salesman but also a fellow fish slayer.
Thanks again for everything.
