In Georgia Strait the Chinook Fishing is still very hot. But the fish have generally moved deeper than last week. Fishing close to the bottom in 225-240ft of water has been consistently effective. Large plugs are still working very well for keeper sized salmon, and good at preventing undersized fish from taking the lure. Top colour pattern is 6" 602uvbiipsre (aka the Pink Pony Plug)
There are still fish in shallow water close to structure and on the reefs. So jigging small lures like Casper Lil' Nibs and Blue/Pink Shimano Current Snipers is a fun alternative to trolling.
The Coho seem to be moving around and have dropped down deeper too. They are anywhere from 50 to 200ft right now. If you get into some Coho please send me an email.
On the West side of Vancouver Island large schools of Mature Chinook are moving south. Kyuquot Sound has been the hot spot recently seeing some very large Chinook moving in. While Nootka Sound has been quite. But that should change soon as some of those large Chinook head that way.
On the west side the bait is a mix of squid and small baitfish. The best lures have been small spoons like the Lure Jenson Koho King Gold Nugget spoon in 3". And to mimic the squid use large plugs like Tomic 647 (aka T-Rex) or UV White OALR12r Hoochies.
