An independent swivel between the handle and top knob keeps the wrist in alignment and helps to prevent painful and unnecessary tendon stress.
At low loads the smooth knob is palmed for very fast cranking. As load increases slightly, fingers naturally close to grip the knob. Under higher loads, the hand slides onto the vertical grip for normal operation. As load increases further, the second hand grips the knob, bringing upper body and torso strength to bear.
Features ball bearing grips for efficiency and comfort. Upper section of knob molded in urethane for comfort and better grip. 8″ handles are faster because the hand swings through a smaller circle, but they reduce power by 20%.
Widely accepted by both racing and cruising sailors, and widely used in the Whitbread and America’s Cup.
